Simon’s Town Quayside Hotel offers two fully equipped conference centres – the Drakensberg Conference facility catering for groups of up to 60 delegates and boasting the most advanced amenities with the additional advantage of the Protea Conference area as a breakaway room.


The smaller Outeniqua Conference facility caters for up to fifteen delegates. This upmarket and private venue is ideal for business discussions and think tanks. An adjacent private lounge is available for delegate use only.


The Conference centres are equipped with overhead projector, flip charts, whiteboards and stationary microphone on request. Additional equipment can be supplied at a nominal fee.


Team Activities and Adventures

The Conference centre and surrounding areas have proven ideal for team building exercises and a variety of unique activities are available for delegates to enjoy whilst attending a conference.


Boat & sea:

  • Sea Kayaking – great fun on various routes around False Bay. Trips are adapted to suit levels of fitness
  • Harbour Tour on “Spirit of Just Nuisance” ferry – a special permit allows entrance to the naval harbour to view the ships. Charter the ferry for a sundowner cruise with on-board bar
  • Learn how to sail – practical and theory lessons on the skills of sailing
  • Whale watching – view whales and dolphins from up to 50m. Team building or specific outcome programs are very dynamic and specialized.
  • Boat regatta – teams design, build and race corrugated boats
  • Navy combat and supply ship tours – tours of the SAS Drakensberg, Outenquia and Protea can be arranged

 

Land and beaches:

  • Urban orienteering – treasure hunts using cryptic clues and famous landmarks on the streets and in the bay.
  • Mountain bike trails – groups compete in various biking categories in the Cape Point Nature Reserve
  • Japanese kite fighting – Pull and release the kite string to circle and knock your opponents’ kite out of the sky
  • Drumming – with the African Drum CafĂ©
  • Movie making – Try your hand at directing a variety of movies
  • The Amazing Race – Find that mystery destination using various modes of transport and clues


All team activities are outsourced and can be arranged by the hotel
